Is a 2 party system really all that democratic ?

Democrat and Republican

Two major party's with a lot of money - a lot of sway etc

There are only two choices offered - or are there ?

Obama's adviser is Brzezinski - who asserts that US primacy must be done through the subjugation of Sub Asian nations and that NATO must encourage a ring around Russia

McCain's adviser is Shenumann (sp?)his stance comes from America for a new century and it states the goal is to hold and win multiple wars on multiple fronts with the idea of American primacy being asserted by domination of oil producing nations and others in order to control the economies of the region in and around Asia's sub continent

Both parties have advisor's with a different battle plan for the same war and that war is American domination of the globe

With no third of fourth choice - how democratic is a two party system ?When both party's are funded and owe intelligence to the same industrial military complexes that Bush and Cheney do -

The industrial military institutions that are no more than modern day arms dealers - They will win only if America is in a constant war and whether the US wins or loses they will win - the arms dealer always does

  1. There are more than two choices. The media just choose to not tell you about it. Look at Ron Paul. That guy didn't accept any money from special interests and was 100% non-corrupt. He was ignored by the MSM and purposely manipulated against although he was Republican!!!

    Money rules politics.

  2. Who cares, we're a federal republic, not a democracy.

  3. No it's not very democratic. Americans are forced to vote for the lessor of the two evils every election. Our country needs more political parties so the two major parties will be forced to offer real solutions and positions rather than discussing wedge issues and ignoring the will of the people.

  4. You have hit the proverbial nail on the head.....Two strategies for meeting the same objective and the same small group of very, very wealthy men are the only winners....They love the two party system and they manipulate us by using the media and propaganda to keep the country divided.

  5. They both serve the large corporations. That is why legislation to help the "commen person" cannot pass. That's why a 3rd party such as "Social Democrats" would be an asset. They would act as the conscience of the government. Your comments about the "Ind.-Mil, complex" is right on the mark. Example; The Vietnam war was never supposed to be won. It was serving the purpose of feeding the I/M institutions. However someone forgot to tell the Vietnamese and following the unnecessary deaths of 59,000+ Americans and over 3 million Vietnamese hey did prevail. Someone should answer for this, but it will never happen under the present system. The same thing applies to Iraq, but if you dare to question it you are being disloyal to the troops. To me questioning it, merely proves you are concerned about the troops. Until the changes are made it remains a case of , "Hail Caesar, we who are about to die salute you." Never give up , change is needed and will only happen when enough people unite to do something about it. Good Luck!!!!

  6. Unfortunately, America is not a democracy, it is a democratic republic.  Since we don't elect our president directly, but instead elect him by an electoral college which with only two exceptions gives all the votes to whoever has 50% + 1 vote, it is impossible for a third party to gain any footing here.  So we will continue to go back and forth between two parties who cosmetically seem different but are actually only two sides of the same coin.

  7. "America for a new century !"

    aaahahahahaha!

  8. Bob Barr is running on the Libertarian party, and no one should vote for the lesser of two evils.  Evil is still evil no matter which way you slice it, and a Libertarian vote would help to eventually make a third choice a viable alternative.

    Democrats offer welfare

    Republicans offer warfare

    Democrats offer higher taxes

    Republicans offer deficit spending

  9. not Democratic enough for me I'm voting Ron Paul don't care what the two parties have to say. Both are corrupt and both are run by the same people. we have to smarten up and get rid of both.

  10. No, a two-party system is not democratic.  Two sizes definitely do not fit all in a nation of 300 million people.

Of course, pure democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner, so that's not a good alternative to our present system.

Your objection, it seems to me, is that the Republicrat factions engage too much in war, geopolitics, and transnational corporatism.  By and large, I agree.  War is a racket, to paraphrase the Marine general Smedley Butler.

My advice to you is to consider more "isolationist" parties like the Libertarians or the Constitutionists.  Don't wait for the lamestream media to tell you they're cool.
