Question:

Is a 20-minute drive for a part time job worth it?

It seems like the only places that are hiring are in a mall that's about 20-25 minutes away from my house. And most likely it will be a part-time job. I'm contemplating on whether or not I should even apply because if I do get a job, wouldn't it be like me working just to afford enough money to put gas to GO to work?

  1. depend on the job really and if you really like doing it 20 minute deive is nothing really a lot more people drive twice that... here where i live thats not even across town try looking at   craigslist.org  for work

  2. Only you could know.

  3. i used to drive 45 mins for a full time job, so half of that time for a part time job, maybe.

honestly the answer is up to you,  if you LIKE this job, then yes, its worth it. if its just a "mcjob" a job to have a job, like walmart, then i would say no.

  4. I would figure out how much gas would cost you versus how much you make and then figure out if that final amount is worth it.  I've got a second job that requires me to drive to different places and sometimes it's over 30 miles away and then it may only be for 2 or 3 hours.  But in the end I am still bringing home way more money than I spend on gas so it's worth it to me.

  5. Depends on the pay, if it is too low the it is not worth it.

  6. Are there people working there that live near you? Start a driving pool. Maybe start  mini cab biz instead! Think beyond the problem.

  7. thats nothing time for the real world

  8. Depends on how much the job pays.  Sounds like kind of a long commute for a part time job.  I drive 15 miles from Fountain Valley, CA to Long Beach and sometimes it takes me 2 hours to get home  But I work for Toyota and they pay very well.  So its worth it.  But if I had to work in a convenience store or burger joint.  NAH!!!
