Is a 2002 Pontiac Aztek Versatrak a reliable vehicle?

I'm considering buying a used 2002 Pontiac Aztek Versatrak AWD with about 100,000 miles. But I have been doing some research and am hearing that they have major electrical problems, many that are un-fixable. I was hoping to get some feedback by those who already own one. Do you like yours? Is it reliable or are there several [electrical] problems? Do they get good gas mileage? Serious answers only please. Thanks in advance. :o)

  1. nothing Pontiac is reliable.....ESPECIALLY  at over 30k miles.

  2. Big Carp obviously doesnt know sh*t about Pontiac.  My family owns 3 Pontiacs, none of which have ever caused a problem.  My dad's only maintenance on his 2002 Bonneville with 150K miles on it was a mirror that I broke off in high school playing hockey in the driveway.

I have not experienced any electrical problems in other Pontiac models whatsoever, but I have not done research on the Aztek.

  3. They are not bad cars by any means and if you treat it well it will treat you well. I would suggest checking to see if the RDM(Rear Dive Module) is in working order before buying an aztek as this part may have issues but are easily fixed by a fluid change.
