I have the 2006 Kaplan ACT book which was my sister's. It's about thirty bucks and I would hate to go buy a new one. My question is, does it matter that it's from 2006 because i'll be taking the '08 and '09 ACT in the future. And also how beneficial is it to study these books, my sister never opened it and made a 33?

  1. lol, i have seen kaplan, princeton review, etc books on various subjects like SAT and AP and they're the same content EXACTLY except that the cover is different rofl

i think u should use the 06 ACT cuz the test doesn't change and the review books also don't, save ur money and try to buy more practice books =D

  2. The ACT is not really the type of test you can study for.

That being said, I do feel that there is a value in doing practice questions and familiarizing yourself with what is on the exam.

If you are a strong test taker, studying will not make a whole lot of difference. If you kind of freak out when it comes to standardized tests, reviewing the types of questions you will see on the test may make a world of difference.

To be frank, the best thing you can do is make sure you are proficient in math...my sister and I did close to the same in the other areas, but my great math score gave me a 31...her low math score gave her a 24...There's no faking knowing your math on the ACT.
