Is a 22 min 5K considered an okay time?

Im 14 and a freshman boy. This was my first time running the 5K timed. If i continue to train and run XC in the fall is it possible to get this time under 20?

  1. Anything is possible. If you really want results, you have to plug in the factors first. And there is only two of them. Hard Work and Perserverence


  2. for your first time runnung a 5k that is a really good time because you have no idea how to pace yourself. If you want to get under 20 mins, i would recommend that you start running every day and try to run about 25miles a week. If you're going to run in high school your coach should be doing some kind of summer training, be sure to participate in that. Just keep training hard just make sure you don't over do it and you should easily be able to get under 20. And make sure you ask your coach how you should pace yourself. Usually you want to run each mile at the same pace and if their is a big gaps in your time then you need to adjust your pace.
