  1. Well there is no such thing as to much room but you should be OK with that size room just go easy on furniture not much to spare

  2. Not really. A cue stick is 60 inches so from the rail to the wall is just enough to fit  the cue with no stroke. If your cue is 57-58 inches thats close enough probably. Need at least a 3 inch stroke.

  3. Absolutely. Check the room chart in the link below.

  4. I have a 4-1/2 x 9 foot pool table, so the bare minimum of space in the room it's going in is 14 feet by 20 feet.  When I first bought the pool table it went in a 14 x 20 and fit just fine.  You are correct in measuring the playing surface when calculating the room size.  My table has a playing surface of 50" x 100-5/8".  50" + 58" + 58" = 166" or 13' 10".  100-5/8" + 58" + 58"= 216-5/8" or 18'-5/8".  You need the extra space the long part of the table for breaking.  If you haven't purchased the table yet I would say to go with the 4-1/2' x 9' table.  I will probably never buy a smaller table even though I shoot a lot on bar-sized tables.  What I like to do is practice on my larger table, because it's much more challenging, then I go and shoot the lights out on a bar table.
