Is a 3 a good grade for my first AP exam? (The exam was AP World History)?

It depends what you see as a "good grade". You have to ask yourself if you studied hard for this exam, if you tried your best, if you cared about this exam, and if you paid attention all year. If you answer yes to most of these questions, then a 3 is a pretty good grade. If you put absolutely no effort into this course and just decided to wing the exam, then no.

It's passing, but you still get credits in most colleges.

Colleges will look favorably on you because AP classes show that you're ready for college level work AND since you passed the exam, that you can handle it.

If you don't want, you don't have to send your score, but you should anyway.

A 3 is good considering that it is your first AP. It's passing. Good Job! Some colleges might give credit for that score and some may not, depends on the college. But even if they don't give you the credit it still looks good that you took an AP test and got a 3. World History isnt really that important compared to other AP's... but it is a pretty tough test. Don't retake it like all those losers said in the other answers, it would be a waste. Trust me.

whoever joey b is, is so retarded. you did great for your first AP, and plus history can be kind of tough, so good job, and a 3 is passing, and thats usually when colleges will give you credit, some colleges may be more strict, but its okay. good job!

A 3 is passing.

Some colleges will give you college credit with a 3, but more selective colleges require a 4.

Don't let that discourage you though. Continue taking AP classes. They don't use AP scores to detirmine college admission.

4 is where colleges usually start giving you credit.  But a 3 is pretty good.
