Is a 30 on the ACT good?

I just started practicing for the ACT and decided to take a test (in a prep book) just to see how good I'll do and got only a 30.

OH yeah that's great! I just took the ACT yesterday and will probably only get a 21. I took a bunch of practice tests and the most I got was like a 21 so 30 is great. The highest you can get is 36. Now there is no telling if you'll do that well on the real thing, but keep working hard and maybe you will. But be sure to practice it timed like you would in the test (like practice the math test with 60 minutes because that's what you'll have for the real thing). If you don't practice it timed, you may not do as well as the real thing. Good luck!

Life is a competition with others and yourself. I see 30 as mediocrity for you because I sense a laurel sitter.You have just started and  considering you have reached 30 easily ;without much sweat]  I must conclude that  you have not challenged yourself. I can write a poem- any length - in five minutes or less. But, if you  ask me to write a Shakespearean sonnet or haiku poem in five or ten minutes, you have challenged me and tested my creative ability, My response is to set an insatiable goal-  well above 30.Aim for the Guiness Book of Records by shattering all previous high scores!

Yes, that's very good. Good job! Just make sure you prep book models the actual exam. Nevertheless, that's a very good score.
