  1. It all depends on what amp you decide to put behind it and how you decide to wire it up.  Given that you have a solid mono channel amp with an RMS rating of around 300-400 watts, then it will have a nice kick to it.  Not anything as loud as what you see being done on TV, but will add bump to your system for sure.

  2. To me, i don't think its loud.  I have two 12" MTX 8500 being pushed of an MTX 1501D...i still don't think its loud enough.  I upgraded from 2 12" MTX 5500.

The system i have now is porbably the loudest i can go before i ruin my car...considering i haven't done any upgrades...for example Big 3, h/o alt....its too difficult to find a h/o alt for a 98 camry.

Anyways, it really depends what car its in, what amp, and amp settings...but to me, its not loud enough. =P

Oh an in home audio, it doesn't matter where you place the sub.  Your body has a hard time determining where low frequencies are coming from.  You can place a sub anywhere in the room, since they are non-directional.

  3. Ok, the individual who answered with room placement clearly didn't notice the "CAR AUDIO" question section.

Either way, it really does depend on a lot, what class aplifier are you putting on it? A class D amplifier pushing 300W RMS will be decent depending on the volume of the vehicle it is in. Example, it will hit better in a short cab Ford Ranger than a Suburban. Either way it will certainly bring a level of frequencies and fullness to your system that you will enjoy. You will not be winning competitions with it more than likely, but you also will not be breaking windows nor as likely to get ticketed for noise violations.

  4. Yes, its quite loud. But the positioning of the sub is actually more important. It should be placed in the corner of the room on the floor, so that the bass can bounce off both walls and maximise its effect.

  5. i have a single 10" and it rattle my rearviw mirror  and shakes the left mirror

    yez

  6. Depends on what you define as loud.  If your amp feeds it a true 300W RMS and the sub is in an ideal enclosure, you might hit low 120 dB's.  Is that loud?  Might be to you ... it's so-so to me.

It's like asking, "Is your car fast?"  Some people think quarter mile in 13's is fast, but to some ... that's still slow.
