Is a 307 engine built on a 350 block

I'm trying to figure out how to get more power out of my 307 or if it is on a 350 block should i build it into a 350 and if so would all do i need to do so

If it is an olds 307, it is different than a chevy 350, i got more power into my 307, buy bolting on a holley 600 cfm carb, an accel super coil, with 8.8 mm wires, a free flowing exhaust, like a flowmaster, with a high flow cat, toped off with a huge k&n breather... That was in a 1987 cutlass rwd... all bolt on stuff and the olds 307 can handle it no problem... i had to take the dash apart and remove the engine light bulb...


  2. They're both small block Chevy's, but with different bore and stroke. It can be done if you want to urn it into a 350, but it's a whole lot of machining and labour plus a different crankshaft. Cheaper to just find a good 350.
