  1. One fancy needs 30 gallons and each additional fish needs 10 gallons. So you will need 50 gallons eventually. Goldfish make a lot of waste so I would check your ammonia levels on a pretty regular basis and make sure to do water changes to keep the water quality up. Gravel vac to get all the p**p and uneaten food. That makes a lot of ammonia too. If they are small for now it's okay, but they will get to be upwards of 8 inches. So I would look into getting a bigger tank. My fantail grew from like half an inch to an almost two inches and I've only had him for 6 weeks.

  2. If they are small (1-3 inches) but you will have to carefully monitor their growth.

They will eventually out grow it (fancies can reach 8 inches). When that is the case, you will either have to upgrade or give one fish away.

Technically you could keep all three (if you were religious about maintaining good water quality) but goldies love having room to swim. Plus, any decorations or gravel will take up space as well.

  3. Common goldfish or comets can get up to 18 inches, so no.

  4. yea i have 2 big goldfish in a 10 gallon

n theres a little room for small fish

if i wanted to add some

  5. well the rule for fancys is

20 gallons for the first and 10 for each additional

but if you have good filteration

you could get away with 3

  6. deffanetly you could get like two ar three and maybe like one or two guppies

  7. It depends on their size.

Assume 2 gallons of water volume per inch of fish (not including fins). Thats what you will need for the goldfish to live comfortably.

So if you fish are all 5 inches or smaller, 35 gallons is plenty. If any of them are bigger than that, then 35 gallons might not be enough.

  8. for the meantime it  will be. however if your having common goldfish or shubunkin or comets will not they grow very very big. for that tank.  If you still planning to buy the tank buy the biggest possible tank your money can buy and buy the fish later.
