if the couches are about 7-8 feet away? I'm looking at 2 plasma tvs, one's a 42 one's a 50. The 50 is about $450 more and I don't know if I want to spend that much just now. Would a 42' be sufficient?

  1. Save your money.  At 7-8 feet 42" is fine.  A 50" at that distance would be too large. A friend of mine has a 50" at your distance and the screen is overwelming.  You can't really view the entire thing at once. I have a 50" and the seating is  at 12ft. This is a much better viewing distance for this size screen.

  2. go for the 50".

  3. nope.

  4. At 8 feet a 42" TV will be fine unless you are near sighted and then you'll need the 50"

  5. Should be fine, check out the calculator below (be sure and scan down the page and enter your data)
