My bedroom is not big by any means but I am a single grad student and have set up the room like a little theatre with movie posters and surround sound. I already own a 32" lcd hdtv but wanna make the move to 1080p. I have received funding from a few extra projects I will be working on and thought that I could use it towards this purchase. A purchase I figure i will have for quite some time. The purchase won't kill me financially so I thought I would ask the interwebs...you have always been kind in the past.

  1. Your TV can never be too big.

  2. Joe: No, a 42" is not too big "for a bedroom." However, it may or may not be too big for YOUR bedroom, and especially for the distance between where you usually sit to watch and the screen. Measure this distance and put info into one or both of these sites to get approximation of optimal screen size and viewing angle.

BTW, most agree that, to really notice ANY difference between 720p/1080i and 1080p, you have to have a screen size of 'at least' 46". Many say over 50". There is an awful lot of marketing hype over 1080p, especially as it is only available by BRD movies and a limited number of games.
