Is a 49cc mini chopper street legal?

i mean in bike lanes? & would it be legal to hook a 49cc motor up to my normal bike and go in a bike lane?

  3. In your state of delusion - you will be jailed for 5 years for trying it.   In the state of New Jersey a 'Moped' as defined in their laws can use bicycle lanes and bike paths. You might be able to use a 49cc engine on your normal bike and if you pass inspection by State Of New Jersey you would be able to use bike paths. Inspection of homemade mopeds will also check top speed, brakes and lights as well as a general safety of constructon.  If you are not in New Jersey- laws may vary.
