  1. No, longboard...

  2. it could work...have fun..but be careful of the fins and be aware that the board is Hard!!

  3. It's maybe not the ideal board but your not real big and the board is kinda wide.  Plus its really cheap.  Try it for a while if it doesn't work for you sell it and get a bigger one.

  4. Yeah, get it. I learned on a 5'10" homemade piece of c**p. And that board looks good.

  5. yep

  6. No the best board is a long board. If you dont want to go all the way with a 9 ft try a 8ft. Honestly longboards tend to be more fun in the beginning because their very relaxed. You dont have to work super hard to catch a wave unlike with a shorter board. If your looking for a good price try buying an NSP surfboard. Their not the greatest boards but they work and their durable. Also try hitting up some surf shops for used boards. Or if all else fails try a foams board. These are very affordable, durable and excellent for beginners. Hope this helps.

  7. That looks like a good board for you.  However, if you don't have any experience at all with surfing or catching waves, you might want to start out with a soft top longboard.  The longboard is like a moving sidewalk, so it is very easy to stand up on and can catch anything.  And the softtop is very forgiving for important body parts (such as your skull) when you fall down.  And you WILL fall down.  A lot.  Plus it is more difficult to ding, and since it doesn't need wax, you can sit on the beach and check out the ladies w/out worrying about all of your wax melting off.
