Is a 7'3" bic surfboard good for beginners?

I just bought that and I think its good to start out with a big board.

  1. I think it depends on your athletic ability, and the conditions you will be surfing in.  A longboard is a good starter length, but if you progress quickly, you will want to add a shortboard to you arsenal.  You can have lots of fun on that board, so get out there and enjoy.


  2. yep i had a bic bout 7ft when i first started to learn. there really durable cos of the plastic, also nice and floaty. but only just duckdivable. andyou wont look like a total kook carrying a massive board around.

  4. Ah you got a mini-mal.

    Bic hasn't been in the board business for very long so I don't know what kind of quality the board itself will be. I'd be gentle with it.

    For beginners it's generally better and easier for you to learn on something a little larger than a 7 footer, but you should be ok.
