  1. Totally depends on your situation. if you have a PS3 720P is a no no because you wouldnt be utilizing the full potential of your blu-ray player. either way a lot of the new games coming out will be in 1080P so it would be a nice investment. A quick tip for you is to be careful when looking up contrast ratios. in america there is no nationwide standard to measure contrast so companies can embellish the ratios. a perfect example is when samsung put out their 81 series claiming a 500,000 : 1 contrast ratio, panasonic came back with a new line of tv's claming 1 million to 1 and the samsung was twice as bright. all in all what you have listed above is considered very entry level, so if your on a budget and just want a HDTV go for it. if you already have an HDTV you wont notice too much of a difference. ill write down a couple of suggestions for you

samsung Ln A 550, 650, or 750 - they are all 1080p and the 650 and 750 have samsungs 120 hz processing for great response times

panasonic px 80u or 85u - panasonic is pretty much the gods of retail plasma, these wre teh tv's boasting a million to one contrast ratio, they look great come in 720 p or 1080p respectivly, and if your looking to spend a little over a thousand dollars, the 42" is really affordable, in fact thats my suggestion for best TV around the 1100-1200 dollar range.

sony - stay away from sony they're over priced and samsung makes better quality your essentially paying for a name brand that lost its touch with televisions for almost a year now.

sharp - the aquos LCD's have pretty good response times but they dont compare in picture quality to a samsung. if there is one for a great deal go for it.

vizio- you get what you pay for, in my opinion the worst tv in mankind the cycle life for a vizio is 7 months and i've seen probably 50 of them returned in a 2 month span at one point. the best picture for around 600 bucks but youll need a new one every year,

*** LAST IMPORTANT TIP*** if you get a name brand TV dont get the extended warranty no matter what they tell you, samsung has standard 3 year warranties and panasonic is great when it comes to their warranties often letting things slide. if you're getting an entry level tv consider a 3 year warranty. and if you have american express definatly put it on your AMEX card because they double the length of your manufactureres warranty for free.

hope i helped you out man good luck
