  1. It's a mandatory degree but not a strong one. Unless you have a Master's degree, it's hard to differentiate yourself qualifications-wise from the thousands of other graduates who pass out from our universities each year.

Focus on skills & exerience as much as on qualifications. If you can land a good internship during your degree, that should be a definite advantage.

  2. Depends on the field.  BS in bio wont help you land many jobs though.  But in other fields, a bachelors degree is plenty to get you a good job.

I don't agree that you need an advanced degree to get a job (assuming you majored in something with a marketable skill).  In fact, there is an issue of being overqualified and stigma of being a professional student who's been delaying entry into the real world.  Aside from research/academic fields, employers prefer to see work experience over degrees earned.  Having an advanced degree with no work experience can actually have your resume at the bottom of the barrel.

  3. No. Nowadays a BS Degree is about as valuable as a high school diploma used to be. Nothing wrong with the degree - but everyone seems to have one. So, if you want to stand out, then earn a graduate or doctoral degree.
