i jus ordered a Pink Ribbon Bromeliad and the care instructions are listed for a Phalaenopsis. i contacted the vendor and they said it was an orchid, however, nothing on the net that I can find confirms this.

the care instructions for the 2 plants are totally different, i dont want it to die, so i am curious to the answer

  1. The bromeliads are bromeliads, but you care like an orchid, because it is an epiphitic species of the forest.

  2. Definitely no, because bromeliads and orchids have different families.... Just treat your new plant like a bromeliad so that it will survive well, cause you said it was a pink ribbon bromeliad....

  3. Pink ribbon bromeliad is NOT an orchid .

All bromeliads and all orchids are not epiphytic .

Your bromeliad is a terrestrial one and hence easy to look after .
