Would a D-Link DIR 300 be a suitable wireless router for 2 computers and a PS3 ie. lack of drop outs, good connection, the router would only be down the hall from the computers/PS3.

Also would getting a USB wifi adapter be better than a pci card?

To answer your question, if that router will work for you will depend on how many people are on your network.  If you have somebody browsing the web while you are playing a game, I would say you need something more high end.  You need something that can prioritize traffic.  If you are the only one using the Internet, then it should fine.  However, wireless has some interference issues with neighbor's wireless networks and wireless phones within range.  Wired networking is always more reliable and simpler to setup.  I suggest you take a look at both sets of links I gave you and really study.  In the second set of links, that newegg.com link has all you need to connect your PS3 to a powerline network including the router it talks about in the video as well as a powerline adapter for the PS3.
