Question:

Is a Dinosaur Yu-Gi-Oh deck a good choice for tournaments?

I'm hoping to enter a Yu-Gi-Oh Card Tournament sometime in the...far future, and was thinking of using a Dino Deck as my 'deck type of choice'. I was wondering if a Dino deck is a good deck choice to use in a tournament if I'm aiming to go high in ranking.

  1. I would have to agree with most other posters and say NO!!!!

However if you really want a Dino deck then you should probably go with this.....

    Monsters: 21

    2x Super Conductor Tyranno

    2x Ultimate Tyranno

    1x Dark Driceratops

    2x Sabersaurus

    2x Mad Sword Beast

    3x Gilasaurus

    2x Hyper Hammerhead

    3x Hydrogeddon

    3x Giant Rat

    1x Sangan

    Spells: 12

    1x Premature Burial

    2x Big Evolution Pill

    2x Tail Swipe

    2x Jurassic World

    1x Monster Reborn

    2x Riryoku

    1x Mystical Space Typhoon

    1x Heavy Storm

    1x Premature Burial

    Traps: 7

    2x Volcanic Eruption

    3x Fossil Excavation

    1x Mirror Force

    1x Torrential Tribute

Look... this deck is not brilliant but it is about as good as a Dino deck can go. It has a good basis and is reliable but is not really strong enough to compete at tournament level. Sorry.

  2. it relly donesent matter what kind of deck you use as long as you have stragies and combos

  3. ok for one it does depened on the the deck more combos because u need mpre than just combos in this game.  Now i think a dino deck would be a good choice exucuted correctly. Becuase u will need tobeat these decks to be high up

    GLADITOR BEASTS

    LIGHTSWORN

    DARK

    AND MAYBE D.D

u will need a really good trap setup and monster setup and a sidedeck wotrhy of killing any thing in its path. Royal oppresion can really help u against gladitors and lightsworn but with exception of the lifepoints loss but its worth it.

Darks u just need to be faster than that deck

And for the dds all u need is a new card thatll come out in the next stucture deck. It is Royal Impregnable Fortress things cant be removed from play.

nobody is running dinos so itll be a new experience against opponents but u will need to make the best dino deck u can

  4. It doesnt matter what TYPE u use just how good the cards ur using are I quit yugio like like 5 years ago no offense but quit now before it takes over ur life

  5. really i dont think any deck is a bad choice. it depends on what you have in the deck. i play with a machine deck. some people may think it's weak but my deck is focused on bringing out my monst powerfull monsters as quick as possibble and keeping them out. if thier destroyed i have at least 7 cards to bring them back. so i'll never have a monster with less than 2500 ATK on the field after like my fitfth turn.  so just build yuor deck good.

  6. no . any deck that is in top 16 od past 2 / 3 sjc tourneys

    =

    glad beast

    monarchs

    dark armed

    lightsworn

    corn control

    lil city / big city

  7. no.. dinosaur is by far the worse deck ever.. -_- and ppl have many card to counter high level card that  your trying to throw at them in tournaments... if your trying to go far dont use Dino Deck.. use those common one that almost everyone use.. lightsworn, destiny hero, DaD, mayb Gladiator beast.. with a bunch of Solemn Judgment

  8. how long have you been playing yugioh? i would suggest going to http://www.pojo.biz/board/ and joining the forums, or at least look through the advanced deck discussion forums. no offense to your thought process, but a dino deck is a terrible choice right now. a couple of decent dino cards did just come out, but the best, newest one, works best in a gadget deck. if you're on a budget, i'd suggest a deck based around gigaplant. it's pretty quick and has aggro and otk variants. if not, the cream of the crop decks are Dark Armed Dragon Return (avg deck cost $1500), Lightsworn (probably around $1000), and Gladiator Beasts (could probably make a good one for $500).

i just used gigaplant at a local, and beat all my opponents except a guy with a Lightsworn deck with 3 copies of Judgment Dragon ($200 card), and a pro running Glad Beasts (they recently had an article about him on metagame.com)

maybe just refamiliarize yourself with the game and the meta first, then make a deck choice.

  9. No. Just.... No.
