I got a few questions that i need answered. I'm going to be using it for gaming but more older than newer games. Will this video card be enough? Whats the most demanding game this video card can run? Also will i need a power supply or will my outlet be enough. And lastly will i need a cooling fan?

My computer specs are Core 2 Duo with 2.0GHZ, 2GB ram

also i have an integrated video card is it possible to use both at the same time?

  1. instead of the 8600 gt definetly get the 8800 GS. it is a great video card for the money. you can get about 80$ on tigerdirect.com and it is just about as good as the 8800gt (better with a little overclocking) it is a great card it can play crysis on medium real well.

you will not need a fan for it it is not a very power hungy card so what you hav should be good and you can not run an integraded card with it (would make it worse if you did)

  2. yep u can run both at the same time, but it uses sys memory for the onboard one..I could switch it on to support 3 monitors.

it's a GT so thats good, and 8600 .. so yep it will be fine.

the PSU on the pc.. is /should be at least 300 watt.. BUT i fit 600 watt as standard.

  3. It is decent, but I would recommend this, http://www.buy.com/prod/pny-xlr8-geforce... It is a much better card. Also, the 8600gt isn't that much cheaper than the card I mentioned. So, better performance for not to much is good. I have a 8800gt and I can play crysis with all but 3 things on high and I get 30 to 40 FPS. In my opinion that is great.

For your second question, you can't SLI an integrated card to another Nvidia card. If you could, it would make it worse, because when you SLI, the best card takes the settings of the worst card. So, its almost like Underclocking.
