Is a European gang likely to kill a bunch of Americans for no reason?

My friend is vacationing in Croatia, Prague, Germany and I think maybe Poland. I know there are a lot of pickpockets there. He's with a ton of friends (maybe 9 other people), some of whom are seasoned travellers. They are young guys, but are not likely to try to get in trouble with anyone (they might drink, but they wouldn't try to steal something.)

Anyway I haven't heard from my friend in 5 days. He has no computer with him and there are not that many internet cafes, also he is travelling a lot and has gone this long without an email before. I'm just worried that he was killed by some sort of European gang. Would they be likely to kill harmless Americans and has this ever happened? Only answer if you ACTUALLY know something about this, not just an "idk...maybe"

I dont know about those other places, but in Germany no. Trust me I was born there... well gangs there are kinda like gangs here i think...havent come across too many gangs here...but you shouldnt worry too much.. its not very likely all of them were killed by a gang..not likely at all.. i think you should stop worrying.they are probably just having fun...esp. if he has gone this long without an email before..he's most likely just fine..

As long as he didn't say anything offensive or advertised himself that he's an american, he'll be fine, either way, they wouldn't kill him because he's from the us, at worst they would probably fight. I don't think it would go farther, even though Croats are really aggressive.

I hope your friend is ok maybe you should talk to his family.  I don't know why Europeans have problems with Americans we are harmless people

No news about American tourists being ambushed, and yes, it would make the news Europe wide if it had happened.

It is likely a case of not being near a computer when the internet shops are open.

Some days you just do not find one, some days you forget till after bedtime (hard for the people at home, but true) and sometimes there is just so much to do that internet has to wait.
