Is a High Fidelity (hi-fi) TV widescreen, regular, or both?

Is a Hi-Fi TV a television that is widescreen (16:9) or a regular TV (4:3)...because i'm going to buy this cord for my tv which is for hi-fi and i'm not sure if the cord will work on my regular (4:3) tv.

  1. I think you mean High Definition (HD).  HD is a wide screen with resolutions of 720 lines or better.

    You didn't say what kind of cable you are purchasing, however, if the connectors are correct, it will probably work for whatever video format you are trying.  The real issue is what equipment is on either end of the cable.  If the equipment is compatible and the connectors are correct, then it will probably work.


  2. You must mean HD.  Hi-Fi refers to audio.  HD can be either 4x3 or 16x9 but is almost always 16x9 now days. I would need more info about the TV and cable to tell you if it will work for you.
