Is a Honda Civic Si Coupe really worth it?

I have a 2007 Hummer H3 and I just can't afford it anymore. My payment is too high and you don't get the 15-20 MPG they tell you. I average 13! I really like the Honda Civic Si Coupe w/ Navi and Summer Tires, but is it really worth it. They say it gets 21-29 MPG but I am not sure that is the mileage that I will get, and it also takes Premium fuel. Also, how well is the depreciation on them? I am loosing a lot of money getting rid of my Hummer, and I really can't afford to loose money like that again. I just want to know what people think. Is the Honda Civic Si the right car for me or do you have any other suggestions? Also, have there been any recalls on any parts for the Honda Civic Si's and how reliable are they. Their technology is much different then the rest of the Honda's.

  1. idk....i wouldn't

  2. i can tell you one thing though. the civic si will surely save you more money on gas. honda's built great cars. not everyone here would agree to my answer but for a 2.0 i-vtec L4 engine...man! you can't beat that for a price. trust me you will love the SI coupe. i just wish i had the money to buy myself a new Honda or something...

  3. I just lost my 2002 Civic Si (much different than current model but more unique) and I truly loved it (some idiot lady ran a red light and destroyed it with her Hummer-- no joke). I like the new ones too, however, I wasn't aware they only take premium(?). That sucks and it would definitely turn me off to buying one with the gas situation as it is. Mine was 160 hp and was nice and quick but got good gas mileage if I drove it right.  As far as quality and reliability, it's hard to go wrong with a Honda.

  4. Hondas last long and are durable cars.

  5. How about a Mazdaspeed3? The Mazdaspeed is super fast and looks cool. It does 0-60 in 5.8, and 263 HP. Also, rather than the Civic's tiny backseat, the Mazda is a wagon and has much more space.

  6. Mazda Miata or a Mini or a Honda Del Sol

I have a honda del sol - 35-40 mpg, it rules.

  7. its worth it cause you could afford it easier, and gas wouldnt kill you so in the long run you would be saving money

  8. First of all, don't believe the mileage in the sticker, is not accurate, most likely will be 10-20% less in actual driving, go site like http://www.fueleconomy.gov/f*g/findacar.... you see mileage tested by the government and mileage summit by other driver.  There's no doubt that civic will save lots more gas than your hummer, main difference could be the driving position, since will be big difference in the height especially, but overall you will save more wit honda, not only it use less gas, their repair parts is far cheaper than hummer and easier for aftermarket upgrade and the resales value is among the highest, just look at the today gas price, you must be nuts to go with hummer.

  9. the 06-08 civic si's get about 28mpg average, yes it does take premuim fuel but if you think about it doesnt really add up too much since preumium gas is about 10 cents more. the civic si holds it value real good it is a honda afterall. the car really doesnt have any problems ive had myne for about a year now and havent had any problems what so ever.
