Is a Kawasaki Mean Strek a good first bike?

Question

I found a Mean Streak for a really good price. I was/am looking at it for my first bike. I will take the MSF course before I ride and, being military, will always have full safety gear on as I am required to. Honest opinions are appreciated.

the Kawasaki Mean Streak is very slow and heavy, its an outdated, old school design

the older Suzuki M95 is the exact same bike

a better alternative would be the Yamaha Warrior

for 1600cc engine the performance numbers are terrible

It's a quick bike but not bad, I would be very careful because when you twist the throttle it will go FAST.

If you are a bigger guy, I would say go for it, You can always get ahold of cheap 70's j*p bike to learn on, for a few months, then sell it and make atleast your money back....

I would have to agree, they are fast.....
