Is a Laptop as Good As A Desktop ?

Question

Would a laptop serve as long a life as a desktop being kept on the same length of time? Or are Laptops only made for short time periods of use & not meant to be kept on all day as with a desktop PC ?

You'll generally get a higher specification desktop for your money. You'll also be able to upgrade all components, whereas with a laptop, you're pretty much limited to the HDD (hard drive) and RAM (memory). A laptop should quite happily run all day, especially if you get a cooling pad for it to sit on.

No one can answer this perfectly because a desktop can fail quicker then a laptop if it comes with a dodgy component, i personally prefer laptops because they are more compact, have built in audio, fair specs, by nature stop forever wanting to upgrade your computer.

You can buy gaming laptops and high end notebooks but your not going to get the abilitly to upgrade and enhance your laptop in the same way that you can upgrade a Desktop. Go with a desktop.

Most Will run Fine if left on all day i my self have my macbook on from when i get into work in the morning till i leave everyday and it runs Great

and now many laptops are becoming much faster some as fast as desktops

in a word no most laptops only last 3 yrs before needing major work i.e. new drives, etctera.  but most computers are obselete the day you buy them. the main failing with laptops is heat.

go with the desktop ,if you buy a laptop will need battery in 2-3  year

if use all the time even sooner,and laptop tend to get hot after long periods. desktop
