  1. Hi!

A Magazine Editor is definitely a great career - but one that you will need to work hard at to get.  You most likely won't be able to start out as an editor, that's one of those positions that you'll need to work your way up to.

You would want to major in English or Journalism and pick a minor or second major in an area that interests you.  For example, if you would like to work for a business magazine, get a minor in business or finance.  Your options here are endless.

After school you will probably need to start out as a measly journalist.  Work hard and you will start to receive promotions!  If you have the goods and work really hard you can make it to editor!

The median salary is going to vary a lot - depending on where you live and how popular the magazine is.  If you were to work for a pretty big magazine you can expect to make A LOT of money.  It's really up to you!

The job will be hard, you'll have to work a lot - but if you want to be a magazine editor then it's worth it!
