  1. It depends on person and the class your buying in.

If your talking about the c, or e class even. NO WAY. the c class has gone along way with the new styling and all, but i'd choose an entry level BMW, lexus, infiniti or caddy over it. It's just not as impressive as it's competitors.

but once you get to the CLK, CLS, S and SLK classes, those are really fine cars worth the money. They're fun to drive, and are true signs of luxury and sophistication, but those will run you anywhere from 50-120k a piece.

In my mind, if you test drive it, and you love it, go for it.

I just prefer my Volkswagens and Audi's over the whole mercedes hype.

  2. Just look at the Customer Satisfaction Index...( CSI )

Nice cars, nice payments per month too...

    Prestigious ? Yes

    Expensive to maintain ? Yes

Did I ever own one ? No

Worth the money ?   See the CSI

  3. My mom had 7 and shes loved them all.

  4. NO they are c**p, get something better and cheaper, bmw are c**p as well, landrover now that is worth the moolah

  5. a entry level bmw is a better car than a entry level MB.

but I think the top of the line MB is a better car than the top of the

    line BMW.

but a Lexus is a more affordable version of both.

  6. If after you drive the car and love it, then it's well worth the money.  You question is all about perception, what you believe to be worth the money, I may not.  For example, A Honda accord v6 with all the goodies is around $30000, It happens to be one of the best cars produced, and while most people would say that car is worth the money, I'd be the one disagreeing.  You'll hear me say, "well, for only ten grand more, i can get a BMW 335i".'

So, I think some Benz's are worth the money, and some are not.  SL, CLS are certainly worth the money.

  7. They're trying, I'll give them credit for that.

For the past decade, their quality REALLY fell by the wayside for awhile. Consumer Reports had them listed in the bottom five for reliability, which was a slap in the face to the once-proud brand. Recently, however, they've really taken steps to make sure they regain their "marquee" status. We'll see if it takes hold and vaults them back into the place they want to be.

I'd pass for now, and wait 'til they regain their ratings again. For now, I'd go Lexus, Infiniti, Acura, etc.

  8. According to annual Consumer Reports' customer surveys, Mercedes is not as reliable as Japanese brands such as Honda, Lexus, Infiniti, and Toyota.

  9. I don't think so.

I would take a Lexus, Infiniti or BMW any day over a Mercedes

  10. No way.. Go something less common and with a bit more class like a BMW or a 300C Chrysler
