Is a Mercury Cougar a good car?

I just wanted to know because i want a cheap car for my sweet 16. I saw one for $6,985. I really like it. Is it a good car? Let me know please.

I'm still driving my 1996 Mercury Cougar....so far....no major problems....knock on wood....it has about 140K miles on it.

The ones from 1998-2002 weren't the best in reliability. I would look for a Mustang in that year range they were more reliable.

They are c**p, especially the ones before 1999

(the pre-99 Cougars are completely different than the 99+ cars, being much bigger, etc)

Fords are junk

Get a Honda Prelude instead
