Is a Mesh Tank good for a corn snake?

I have a mesh tank and when I got my corn snake at the pet store they said it was ok. but all the stuff I've been reading says to us a glass tank.

  1. First of all don't listen to what they tell you at the pet store. They don't know anything. I would say use a glass tank since your snake will probably figure out how to rip through the mesh.  


  2. ok i have no idea what you have been reading but the best thing for a corn snake is a wooden viv. many people use converted glass aquariums but these are never the best option its just popular in the US (and this out dated method seems to have got it terminology confused and now instead of written as easiest is written as best. like in the US minimum and recommended get confused alot)  here in the UK for most species its highly discouraged. all mesh tanks tend to have climate control issues (not being able to get the correct temp/humidity and not being able to keep it constant) if u can get around these there perfectly fine

  3. Glass is a lot better, theres  nothing wrong with mesh though. Just not the best with Corn Snakes, theyre escape artists and if they rip alittle off they'll get out no problem.

  4. well my corn snakes cage is ckicken wire and he hasnt escaped but you need a strong heat lamp
