  1. No!! Parakeets are the name given to most of the Australian Parrot like.

    Take the Indian Ring-necked,this is not an Australian Parakeet.

    Most Australian Parakeets come under Genus.Platycercus, Neophema, Psephotus,

    The Budgie is Melopsittacus undaltus.

    Indian.Parakeets are Psittacula. Like the Alexandrine,Plumb headsand the Indian.

    There-fore all Parakeets are not Australian

    i didnt think they were so i checked and they are- but i have never heard them called that
