Is a RM6750-Speakers system better than a HT-R320 Home Theater System?

I have a RM6570 sounds system (4 rears and one center) and a Yamaha amplifier (pretty big, dunno what model it is). I don't know if they are better than a Home Theater System HT-R320 (receiver, 4 rears, 1 center)

Thanks for any reponses

  1. Unless you need speakers that small I would advise at least going for bookshelf-sized speakers with drivers that are 5" or larger. I think a good set of speakers in your price range would be these SVS speakers (http://www.svsound.com/products-spks-sbs... . I had the Polk 6750 and while they sound OK, I quickly replaced the entire set with some Boston Acoustics speakers. For the subwoofer you could either go with the X-sub (http://www.av123.com/products_product.ph... or this Energy (http://www.tsto.com/cgi-bin/TSTO.storefr... . Whatever speakers you decide on I would take the time to audition as many speakers as you can. Make sure you stop into some high-end audio stores to get a feel for what good speakers can do, even if you can't afford them at the moment.

  2. The RM6750 speakers system is far superior and has had widestream usage due to its popularity with celebrities. Stand alone units are much better than home theater systems because when they break individual parts can be replaced.
