  1. Sago Palms will die with out salt!! They need lots of maganese & nitrogen too. I mulch the top of the huge pot that my Sago is in with rock/softner salt. This is a slow release type and works fantastic. My Sago almost died a while back and began turning yellow. I put him on the salt and watered liberally and he is now dark green and healthy again! I did ad a little 20/20/20 as well, but I had tried just the fertilizer once before and it did not help much. Only after adding the salt, He really started to respond favorably. Took a couple of week but he is looking awesome now! I am glad cause I have been growing this one for over 7 years in Ohio!
