Is a Sony DCR-VX2000 compatible with Mac?

i have a the black MacBook with leopard operating system on it. I am thinking about purchasing the Sony DCR-VX2000 would this camera be Mac compatible? If so what programs will it work on?

  1. Yes.

    All you need is a 4-pin to 6-pin firewire cable to connec the VX2000's DV port to the Mac's firewire 400 port. The camcorder needs to be in "Play" or "VCR" mode.

    The VX2000 is a standard definition, miniDV tape based, camcorder. Any version of iMovie (including iMovieHD already loaded on your MacBookPro) will import DV format video from this camcorder. Any version of FinalCut (Pro, Pro2 or Express) will import DV format video from this camcorder.
