Question:

Is a T.V. Converter Box of any use at this time?

I was wondering if a converter box would be helpful now for getting better reception on my T.V., or will it only be of value when the change takes place in Feb. 2009? We don't watch a lot of T.V., so I'm not in a rush to go out and buy a new one for the new service in 09, but I am looking forward to getting rid of my rabbit ears.

Thank you.

  1. I just helped my grandma buy 2 converter boxes for her 2 television sets from Best Buy.  They cost $60 but with the coupon it's $40 off.  I connected it already but there are some channels that she still doesn't get like Ch. 3 NBC or some are fuzzy.  I would try to get your converter soon or get basic cable!

  2. Most stations will be converting over this year, but your fine for now without the box.

  3. I would recommend getting the digital converter now rather than at the time of the change over. Prices for converter boxes will probably increase due to the fact that every one will be scrambling to get them at the last minute and supplies will get low.

  4. Ha! You will still need the rabbit ears with the converter box.

And you can now use the DTV coverter box. Most TV stations have began broadcasting DTV signals.
