Is a UK Driving license suffient ID to fly with Ryanair from Birmingham to Dublin?

  1. yes, but only for this year,however some airlines will ask to see your passport, so check what your ticket says.  If I were you I'd just take my passport anyway.

    Next year you will need your passport, as the special arrangement between us is ending (do to with immigration etc)

  3. Yes, But only if you were born in the UK before 1983.

    A driving license is valid as evidence of citizenship (as only UK or Ireland citizens can travel without a passport). As the license states only place and date of birth, not citizenship, you can only use it if your place and date of birth guarantee you are a citizen. This only works for people born in the UK before 1983.

  4. It is acceptable form for Ryanair between those two cities.

    From the Ryanair.ie website:

    "For British and Irish citizens who are travelling on flights to/from the United Kingdom to/from the Republic of Ireland, a valid driving licence with photo is acceptable photo ID.

    Passengers who are citizens of other countries travelling on these routes must present a valid passport (with visa if applicable) or a National Identity Card issued by the government of a European Economic Area (EEA) country."
