Is a Vista Quest 5MP Digital Camera a good working camera?

no that is a terrible camera DO NOT buy it. instead get a Canon PowerShot A580 8-Megapixel it takes excelent photos! and it is 8 megapixels wich means great clear pictures. the only thing about this camera is that it runs on batterys so you cant charge it. and it has kinda a cheap feel to it. anyway it is on sale right now for $140 at circuit city

Having never hear of that brand and the fact that most new cameras have at least 7MP (even the least expensive ones).

At $130, I would look for a camera made by a camera company.  Nikon, Canon, Pentax as well as some electronics companies like Panasonic and Casio.  They will have IS, at least a 3x optical zoom and many other features.

That camera has NO optical zoom and is basically a toy.

Megapixels don't hold any images ... they are what detect the focused image and send that information to the cameras memory (via an analog to digital converter).
