Is a White House Press Release any more truthful, honest or forthright?

than one from the Kremlin in Russia or one released from Bejing, China? Do we truly believe what we are told by our Government in America?

  2. Hahaha, dude, look at the news media. The government has to at least TRY to be somewhat truthful or they'll be skewered. The constantly changing politics helps too. Unlike Russia or China, we don't have one static political party that is perpetually in power. We have two that fight it out tooth and nail, and they keep each other in check. That's the beauty of the two-party democracy; neither party can afford to lie outrageously or the other party will call them on it and use it to break them down during the next election.

    Read as many versions of stories from different sources (not all owned by Richard Murdoch) and decide for yourself.

  5. well what our government tells us maybe somewhat bent. But with our private news .orgs we can get the whole picture. our government may omit something, but they dont release propaganda.

    *however, the Bush admin probably did lie about WMDs in order to invade Iraq, so at a admin level there maybe some deception.
