  1. NO, they are opposites of each other.

Absolutely not...it is indeed the opposite...simply means that when one is having loose bowel movements taking the anti-diarheal med will help slow the process as well as allow time for BM's to form, thus alleviating frquent loose bowel movements. There is an over the counter product that does BOTH...controls diarrhea as well as constipation...check with your local pharmacy for advice..Take care~
