Is a bb gun considerd a firearm?

there are two types of bb gun , RIF realistic immatation firarms , eg bb guns which are all black and look like the real thing , with thesse you need to be UKARA registered , and must attend a bb shooting club once a month , this costs money , alternitavely you can have an AEG (not sure what that stands for) but basically the bb gun is more than 50% another colour eg 48%balck and 52% green , its an offence to alter the colour of theese bb guns
