  1. I rub mine with kosher salt, make sure your prime rib is at room temperature. Preheat the oven to 500 degrees, put the roast in and cook it 5 minutes per pound with the oven at 500. Turn the oven off and DO NOT open the door for at least 2 hours.

    Always turns out great.

  2. I believe prime rib is pork, therefor beef would be thicker and longer, you could still prepare it the same way just cook it a little longer.  I usually just coat them with BBQ sauce and roast them for an hour on 350.  Any type of potato and a salad would go great, and it's easy.  good luck enjoy your evening!

  3. a beef rib is not the same cut, but you CAN get the prime rib rub at the meat store and get a bit of au jus to make it juicy :) it will be just as tasty but won't have the fat running through it.(even tho thats my favorite part :)

  4. It sure ain't Pork.

    Definition of Prime Rib:

A tender cut of beef taken from the rib primal. A Prime Rib Roast is also often referred to as "Standing Rib Roast."

It is very tender, flavorful, and expensive. A slice of uncooked prime rib roast is really a "rib steak" which includes the "rib eye" portion.
