  1. Its a good gun alright, It will shoot as strait as its shooter can.  Another 1 to consider is  a used Super Black Eagle.  Built for upland game hunting.

  2. You will be waiting a looooong time if you want an answer from JD. He doesn't come on here anymore, at least not with that name.

  3. The Benelli Supernova is by far the best pump action shotgun you can get in that price range. Having shot a multitude of Rem 870s and Mossberg 500's as well as other similar priced pump shotguns, the Benelli was the highest quality, and most comfortable to shoot.

  4. Not J.D. but here is my input.

Any benelli is a joy to shoot and suitable for any bird hunting.  Just a personal choice to make.

One are you set on a 12, I like to use the 20ga on smaller birds like dove, quail, woodcock, etc.  and keep the 12 for fowl, turkey, pheasant, and partridge.

The super nova is a going to weigh about 7.5 lbs compared to the Benelli Ultra Light 20 ga at 5 lbs.  The ultra light is also a semi auto loader with a raised vent rib sight, perfect for upland birds.  Quick on the shoulder and on target and wont weigh you down on those long walks.

The Ultra light also comes in a 12 ga.

Also the older Benelli M-2  is a great auto loader, should be able to pick one up used for your price range.
