  1. Did you just recently put them in?  Birds get stressed from moving into a new cage, but as long as they can see where the food and water are, they'll be fine and will get used to the new cage.

  2. I know it might seem like alot,

but they really need their space.

I would suggest getting a much bigger cage,

or giving away some of ur birds(2 good homes!).

    9 birds is alot,

and they are probably stressed out cause they're being moved and because they don't have enough space.

  3. For nine parakeets I'd say the 6' cage is possibly too small; it is certainly not too big. A bird can't be "stressed" just because its cage is roomy; keep in mind that wild parakeets live in expansive scrublands and grasslands, all wide open places. For any kind of bird, there is never such a thing as "too big" a cage, as long as the bar size/spacing is suitable for the type of bird you're keeping.

  4. You have it exactly wrong.  The poor birds probably hate that tiny cage.  They can't even fly, just hop around.  That would be like you and 8 friends living in your bathroom..

  5. The size of the cage actually sounds good for that many birds.  However you should know that parakeets are colony type birds and when they are resting or feeding, usually will be in clusters close together.  Even after they get to know the cage really well, you'll probably still notice that they like to be together.
