  1. No. Technically it doesn't have enough power, though the name might raise a few eyebrows, and therefore, premiums.


  2. 1.  The BMW 323 is not a sports car.  No BMW 3 series below the 330 can really make a case for being a sports car.

    2.  Insurance companies don't care if a car is or is not a "sports car."  All they care about is the risk the car poses.  Some sports cars pose little risk and are cheap to insure (Miata) some post great risk and are expensive to insure (Corvette, Mustang).

  5. Sometime insurance companies will classify a car "HIGH PERFORMANCE" car even though it is not a sports car.

    My Audi A4 1.8T is considered high performance car because it has a turbo-charger (even though it is very slow).

    The turbo charger was just to compensate for the small engine.

    Nobody can really say what is a high performance so nobody can argue against it either.
