  1. No not at all, not only isnt  a good replacement its not even HI DEF meaning no HMDI hook up for better sound, no blu ray or hd dvd playback or 1080p. If you series about sound from your movies and music keep shopping there are much better set ups out there. I have a 5.1 set up in my bedroom going to go toward 7.1 soon. I bought a 3-2-1 setup and tried listening to such movies as the MATRIX and BLACK HAWK DOWN ,then i moved my 5.1 set up into the room and compared, There was no comparison 5.1 beat Bose in clarity, highs and lows and esp low end punch from the sub.If you want a good set up try this

  2. totally agree with used.  there are a lot better systems out there that sound clearer, more punch, and cost the same... and even cheaper than Bose.

Since the quality of sound is ALWAYS based on the user, I suggest auditioning real 5.1 surround sound systems to see what sounds best to YOU.  I can almost guarantee that you will easily find better sound elsewhere.
