I know 1 box of raisins is 1 serving size...but on my meal plan, should I count it as 1 fruit or 2 fruits, because I was taught that 1 fruit = 15g and a box of raisins is 33g. (The same applies for fruit juice boxes, which are 1 serving of 30g).

  1. I think that if you're eating the whole box, you should count it as 2 servings because you'd be consuming twice the amount of calories. Then again, this depends on the type of "meal plan" you're on.  But for the  most part, many take into account calories also. Even the most natural foods have calories too.

  2. Even when you are on a diet, whole fruits, you can eat as much as you want really, low cal,no fat, these aren't things you really need to limit yourself on,it's the saturated and trans fats you should limit.

Dried fruits, you have to be careful, because some companies add sugar..

  3. Looks like you answered the question yourself!  If 15 grams is a serving than your boxes must have two.     I always thought that a serving of dried fruit was about a 1/4 cup, but I don't count fruit/veg calories.    As long as your dried fruits don't have added sugar eat away.......   it will keep you from eating unhealthy sweets.

  4. 1 fruit serving because it is the same fruit
