Is a budgie parakeet a good first?

I wanna get a really easy bird that will inroduce me to the bird family. And then get a african grey and slowly move up. So my question is are budgies good birds and are they easy? and if not whats the easiest?

  1. It's undoubtedly budgies for you. They are small, easy to care for, the p**p is not messy (!), each comes with an unique personality & are quite adorable! Can you devote lots of time to your bird? Then go for one as a single budgie is more easily tamed/trained. If you can't give too much time, then go for a pair. A male & a female or both males. They would be happy with each other for company. Better to get a young budgie (8-10 weeks old). Anything younger can be tricky for you, anything older more difficult to train/tame. Best of luck with  whatever choice you make.

    they dont require much care either

    just some fresh food and water daily and LOTS OF TLC!!

    lol

    finches are also easy to care for but arent as lovable as budgies

    and also Cockateils are good pet birds too, but they are larger and more expensive
