  1. In a desert, good. In the bedroom, bad.

  2. I have a cactus on my front porch to keep away thieves.  All plants have energies we can learn from, that's why my cactus is on the front porch using it's energies of defense to help me keep my house safe.  My cats do a good job too.  I also have a statue of a dragon and his job is to protect my space from any unfriendly entities.  I have never heard any plants being unlucky.  I have noticed that poison oak is a bit unfriendly though.  Blessed be.

  3. It's bad luck if you touch it :)

Yeah, I really don't know; I'm not very superstitious.

  4. In Feng Shui it is considered bad luck to have any plants in the house with pointed leaves. That would include most cactus types that I know.

  5. I have many types of cactus plant in my home, from rainforest epiphytes to candelabra desert dwellers. I consider myself lucky in that they reward my care with beautiful and unusual flowers every year, some blooming more than once a year. Between my cactus and my African violets (a South African native) I have flowers year round at my house. Great plants!
