I have a large ferplast cage with no tubes and no way of attaching them and am getting a dwarf hamster tomorrow to go in it. Will it be ok without tubes to crawl in if I put in more toys? I have a ball to run in.

What toys to Dwarf hamsters like?

  1. See this page on my site - http://roborovskihamsters.webs.com/check... for a simple checklist on what your hamster needs to live a happy life :-)

  2. yes.

  3. of course it will be ok they like the same toys as a normal hamster wooden blocks seesaws balls:)

  4. dwarf hamsters are really small therefore you should have a sealed plastic cage or a mouse cage. a normal hamster cage with bars has too big a gap between the bars so it could get out.

  5. It'll be ok, but a bit boring for him, as they love to go through tunnels. Get some of those empty log looking things so they can feel like they are tunneling while they are in their cage. And yes, the ball and a wheel are a must. Don't overload the cage with toys, mix them up every now and again so he doesn't get board or cramped.

  6. No worries if it doesn't have tubes- tubes aren't needed, they're just something some cages have.

They can have a wheel in there, a cardboard tube, gnawing sticks, willow/straw based 'houses' etc.

Things to chew and hide in are what they love the most, and you can get some which are a mix of a hiding place and chewable/edible.

  7. It's fine!

They like toilet paper tubes!! You can also get chew toys which they love!

    That's about it!

    Hope I Helped!!

  8. well dwarfs like wheels and they like all toys like those blocks and you don't have to get a tube but they do like it so maybe u could buy one and put it inside the cage or u can use a toilet roll and maybe crunch it up and put it in

  9. get a hamster wheel

put a toilet roll in it to crawl through

and just go to your local pet shop and find some other cool little toys

  10. Definitely! Just make sure it gets plenty of exercise, add a wheel, some toilet paper tubes, and some toys, also take him out of the cage in a safe room once in a while and supervise him while he runs around!

  11. As long as a hamster is in clean cage and has something to eat, drink, play with and a play to sleep and run around it will be fine. You don't have to have loads of tubes - just one would be ok. If you have a ball that is good, but for inside the cage get a wheel (small one for a dwarf). For other toys just see what the pet shop has

  12. yes it will be fine, and a wheel , a chew block, a little tower or a ladder, it also might be a good idea to get a pair of dwarfs(they realy like company

  13. personally, i dont think so. i had a robo and she loved the tube, she slept in it and ate in it, on the internet (google images) , type in speelos and the cage i got my robo is the first one on the page, it is perfect for 2, possibly 3 dwarves. hope this helps

  14. sure, you could always put in some toilet roll tubes for it to run through, and you should get it a wheel. i don't think they really play with toys.

  15. My cousin used to have a dwarf hamster, and he got stuck occasionally. I mean, if he really likes it, then keep it. Try getting tiny wood blocks for him/her to chew on. And, I heard they really like those little igloo things to hide in. And just for a heads up, my friends mom is an old vet, she said that when you pick up hamsters with you hands, you're like a hawk trying to eat it. when you pick it up, use something like the little igloo to scoop him/her up. Well, Bye!
